Thibaud Berkvens

I am an experienced travel consultant with more than 15 years of expertise in the tourism industry. Since childhood, my thoughts were elsewhere and not in my own country. Urged to find out where habits and traditions come from, I found myself automatically driven to travel. In my belief, foreign cultures and languages can’t be taught in books. I have lived and worked in Spain, Italy, Egypt, Tanzania, Brazil and Cuba. Living in the country and learning from locals made me a specialist in these destinations. Since 2017, I’m happy to add South Asia’s pearl in the Indian Ocean to my list, “Sri Lanka”.

I always say to those who are lucky enough to travel, you must certainly do so! I strive to design quality holidays with a focus on conscious and sustainable tourism. Any traveller should feel at ease while exploring Sri Lanka and live that unforgettable experience…

I’m a Sri Lankan born world citizen who has lived in India, the UK, Germany, Finland, the Netherlands and Belgium. I’m a language teacher and a trainer by profession with a research background in linguistics. I highly value my life experience in all of these diverse countries with their unique cultures which has enriched me on how I perceive the world.

I’m truly passionate about sharing my Sri Lankan roots with anyone whom I meet. I'm also a trained Kandyan dancer, the traditional upcountry dance form of Sri Lanka. With my dance background I bring a deep appreciation for Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, allowing Passiko Voyages to offer immersive travel experiences that connect travellers to my island’s vibrant dance and music traditions.

I’m the web designer, content creator and the operations executive at Passiko Voyages. I'm also your go-to for insider tips, and your local expert on my island's culinary delights.
